The Snow Trillium: my writing life

Jillene Williams. That's the name of my main character in my women's fiction book that I have been working on. I can't tell you the number of hours that I have spent behind a computer putting this story all together, but my husband and kids probably could. It's now completed, but if you are a writer is a book ever really completed?  I keep editing, and I'm in this inbetween place where I'm trying to move forward so I can move onto my next project.

I'm so glad you asked. The Snow Trillium is about : Three women, three lives changed by grief, three stories that intertwine to show how family and the love of others help them through their darkest days.

Here's the blurb: The story is a multipe narrator story that alternates between three characters. Jillene William is a lifestyle blogger and photographer, who has it all. She and her new husband Matt buy a historic home nestled in the Mississippi River Valley in Hastings. Then she finds out she is pregnant. As an only child of two workaholic parents, Jillene has always felt alone. For the first time, she feels like she’ll never  be alone again. Then when she is 22 weeks pregnant, she goes into premature labor, and is rushed to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Minneapolis. Three days later, she and Matt leave with empty arms and with only the darkness of  winter ahead of her Jillene doesn't know how she will survive.

Danielle Harris, R.N. is a new Labor and Delivery Nurse, that believes she has found her dream job at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. She might have also have found her dream guy, who lives on the first floor of her apartment complex. But, then she begins to struggle in orientation, and she is forced to confront a deep personal loss she thought she’d put behind her. When she meets Jillene Williams, she must face the nagging voice that keeps telling her she'll never be a successful labor and delivery nurse.

Throughout the story, we meet seventeen year old Margo Hartman through a journal written in 1917 that Jillene finds in the watchtower room of her historic home. As Jillene reads it, she connects with Margo, who pours out her heart about her engagement to her fiance Henri, who goes off to fight the Great War. Local legend says that Margo was always a finance and never a bride, but Jillene soon discovers that local legend is wrong and there are secrets about Margo’s life that have been hidden until now.
